THE BOOK OF PHILEMON

What a great week it has been for us here in Fort Portal, God is continually letting many great things happen here. His kingdom is growing everyday. This week Brother Dick, Odomel, Tadeo and I together with our entire ministry team went out to the villages around preaching and sharing Christ with many that had not heard about him. Our women ministry team is going on wonderfully, the ladies of our church have decided to reach out to their fellow women thru their club. In this club, the women weave, make paper beads, make table mats and craft lots of wooden items all in their free time so what they do they invite other women and they teach them how to make the items mentioned above. They do not only teach them how to make crafts but they also teach them about Christ and how to live a Christian life that honors God and at the end of the day some take Christ for themselves as their personal lord and savior. Please pray for our women’s ministry team.

Also, our church youth and teenagers now totaling to over 60 of them have formed what is called The Youth Evangelists Team ( YET ) to start ministering to their fellow young men thru music, dance and Drama and it is working very well. They have decided to use their God given gifts to reach out to many. YET is headed by Brothers Isaiah and Gerald and Sisters Rebecca and Doreen with assistance from Brother Dick and I. They also like calling themselves The Lord’s Standby Army for they quickly respond to any call for help especially to the most poor ones of our community. In the next two weeks we are going to have what we have called Royal Time with God. We are going to go out to either a natural forest or to any quite camping grounds for prayers and fun for the whole day. It will depend on the cost of food and transport but we would like to take about 50 and above guys for serious prayer time.

Fort Portal has got lots of great spots where one or a group of people can go and pray to God far away from our homes and I have discovered the youth here like having time out of the noisy places to be able to communicate with God so we really want to take advantage of this to be able to help our young ones as they are being prepared to take over someday and also be able to evangelize to our communities.

The old men are also coming up with their evangelism ministry. They want to be able to evangelize thru actions of faith. Please pray for Brother Dick and me as we teach people about Christ in the villages in and around Fort Portal. We have lots of BIG dreams and we pray for God’s guidance and provision for the many ministries. People have very high expectations of us so we are very hopeful that the lord is going to mightily going to bless you. As for his work we prepared for his is on our side in every step of faith we make.

I take this opportunity to thank you all for the physical and Spiritual support you have given us. You support is very important to the ministry as together in many ways try our best to reach out to the lost.

Thank you for being a brother, a Sister and a partner in spreading his word in this part of the world.

IT WAS SUCH GREAT WEEK.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in the lord.

We thank you so much for the prayers you offer for the ministry here, many people are giving their lives to Jesus in response to his call. Our church evangelism team comprising of eight men and women has been preaching through out the whole week while our Youth Evangelism Team ( Y.E.T ) has been presenting plays and calling on people to give their lives to Jesus at different functions of which two of them have been at Brother Dick’s Sisters Give away ceremony and at her weeding. The youth did a great job sharing Christ at these events thru plays, music and presentations. Our church youth have said they want to preach Christ at any given opportunity and so far what they have done is very impressive.

I was seated in the crowds when the youth were presenting their plays at the wedding and I over heard very positive comments from among the crowds and deep in my heart I glorified God for these boys and girls.

I over heard a gentleman saying I would like these kids share with me about Christ but how do I get to know about them, I bended over to him and I said Sir, I am of the ministers with the church where these guys come from so would like me to introduce them to you after their play? He said yes so I stood up and went spoke to the youth and told them that someone would like to hear more about Christ.

As I was still speaking to them the gentleman came up to where we were and invited them to share Christ with his entire family on Tuesday at 3:00pm. He gave us directions to his home so today at 3pm we are going to be at his house ready t share Christ with him and his family. Thank you God for this opportunity and for Brother Dick’s invitations to his Sister’s weeding

On Sunday many showed up for church including first timers who came to church after both teams invited them over
We had over 300 hundred people in attendance during which 9 surrendered their lives to Christ bringing the number of those baptized yesterday to 17. Brother Michael shared about The Agape Love while my sermon theme was God’s Love Will Never Fail.

During baptism after I had finished baptizing I asked those around if there was anyone who wanted to give his or her life to Jesus and be baptized before I could get out of the
water and I as soon as I had finished talking, two young men of between 17 and 20 yr came running very fast into the river saying they want to surrender their lives o Christ and be baptized so I prayed for them there and then baptized them but guess who these men are. They were the two of my best friends I have secretly been praying for. One of them is my cousin Robert whose father persecuted me so very much when I became a Christian over 12 yrs ago while the other one was Godwin who I call my Amigo, I have known Godwin all his life, his guardian father and mother were my great pals before they died. Godwin calls me dad although I am only 15 yrs older than him, I praise God for Godwin and I thank Him for wining Godwin over to himself.

I knew that hundreds of people around the universe were praying for him so when he came running down into the river my heart was filled with lots of JOY. Godwin and Robert are buddies for some reason and I believe God has a plan in all this. Would you please pray for all these men, women, boys and girls who are freshly born babies in Christ?

Pray for Brother David who was baptized yesterday as well. Brother David’s wife ran away and left him alone in the house because she could not stand his heavy drinking habits. Whenever he drunk fights with both the kids and their mama became the order of day. I am sharing this with you because with tears rolling down his cheeks, he shared the same things with the church before we went to the river. He asked us to pray for him.

Please continue to pray for us as we continually reach out to families like brother David’s as there are many like these that need Christ’s healing. Brother Dick and I thought about inviting over men and women of God to come over and conduct marriage seminar for the couples in church because there are many families that are struggling yet we could evangelize to them thru such seminars.

I am very thankful to the lord for using many in his church to reach out to his lost sheep.
